CARANA connects Africa with apparel buyers and retailers from the United States and Europe

Arlington, Virginia February 21, 2008 - Under the auspices of the USAID-funded Global Competitiveness Hub projects in Africa, CARANA will bring together U.S. and European buyers and African sourcing houses, retailers, and textile and apparel producers as part of the Fourth Annual African Apparel Business-to Business-Event (B2B) at the Leriba Lodge in Pretoria, South Africa from May 20-21, 2008. Over the two days, CARANA will organize one-on-one pre-matched meetings based upon the sourcing requirements or production characteristics of each company attending. It is expected that more than 300 meetings will be arranged between the participating companies, encouraging opportunities for sourcing, outsourcing and other business linkages. CARANA will also produce vendor profiles on each firm, detailing their requirements and matching potential buyers and suppliers. Joint ventures and investments have also materialized from past B2B events.
