During the weeks of January 23, 2006 and February 13, 2006, CARANA Corporation is implementing a training workshop in the Dominican Republic to customs personnel on the theoretical and practical aspects of rules of origin and customs procedures under DR-CAFTA. This workshop, funded by USAID under CARANA' LAC Trade III Project, is designed to improve the Dominican Customs Administration institutional capability to control, verify and a posteriori inspect the origin of goods imported under the Free Trade Agreement. CARANA Consultant Mr. Juan Luis Zúñiga, former Costa Rican negotiator on Rules of Origin during the DR-CAFTA negotiations, is leading this intensive five-day workshop.
