CARANA Corporation Awarded SEGIR Privatization II
IQC By USAID
Arlington, VA—CARANA Corporation was recently
awarded the Support for Economic Growth and Institutional Reform
(SEGIR) Privatization II IQC by the U.S. Agency of International
Development (USAID). This five-year IQC has a $500 million ceiling,
and will build upon the first SEGIR Privatization contract.
CARANA, who also served as a Prime Contractor on the first SEGIR
Privatization IQC, has teamed with a diverse consortium of highly
specialized partners to assist USAID in achieving its goals. Through
this IQC, USAID will accumulate the intellectual and technical resources
necessary to better understand and overcome ownership related constraints
to economic growth as experienced by developing countries in the
areas of competition, market access, regulatory reform, and institutions.
The CARANA Consortium consists of subcontractors Abt Associates
Inc.; Nathan Associates Inc.; PA Government Services; Cameron McKenna
LLP; Global Development Solutions, LLC; Euro-Phoenix USA, LLC; IMPAQ
International, LLC; Land Tenure Center; The Peoples Group, Ltd.;
and Teknecon Energy Risk Advisors, LLC. Resource firms include BG
Consulting Inc., CompuSpa, Inc.; Indecon Consulting GmbH; and International
Capital Corporation, Ltd.
Also for USAID, CARANA is a prime contractor for SEGIR General Business,
Trade, and Investment and a subcontractor for Accelerated Microenterprise
Advanced Project/Business Development Services (AMAP/BDS), Microenterprise
Advanced Project/Enabling Environmental Services (AMAP/EE), Energy
II, and Rural and Agricultural Incomes with a Sustainable Environment
(RAISE).
